NYFW: AN ANALYSIS FOR LAMPOON MAGAZINE

"With a semblance of revolutionary culture, the New York collections set a tonality of such that one may expect as a spectator to discern a like energy and spirit to follow in the subsequent cities. Internationally united by creativity, it appears now more than ever, a politically, socially and economically verbal platform has risen in which designers will ascend to."

LFW: ECHOES OF POPULISM FOR LAMPOON MAGAZINE

"London Fashion Week Men’s, as the British Fashion Council has newly renamed it, proved to be a scene for populism, further, a political style of action mobilizing a population against an elitist government. Following the shift in international relations, we are simultaneously witnessing a shift in fashion. A non-style revolution appears to be mirroring a movement brewing under the surface: a worldwide people’s revolt that gains strength with each coming season. With a nod to the proof that populism is dictating fashion, designers continued to produce the demanded see now-buy now collections, while initiating the follow-suit of last season’s shift in the continuance of dual-gendered shows."

COVER STORY JON KORTAJARENA FOR LAMPOON MAGAZINE

tiresome to hold something unreal. You have to cover what is not considered perfect and that can create much insecurity. As an actor, all of your fears, your insecurities, even the precise moment in which you are in raw form, can all contribute to your work to make it greater, more real and honest. I love both professions, but I feel that as an actor I have much to give. In fashion you sell an illusion, in acting you tell a story, a reality."

It would be difficult to characterize Jon Kortajarena as a person, as he is perhaps more, in fact, an energy. In his presence, he is a compelling, contagious force that is effortlessly drawn to. "It is true that all of the personal experiences that I have lived as a model are used as an actor, and in some aspects both professions have certain similarities, but it is only in the most superficial part. As a model, I feel that you have to sell the illusion of being a perfect man and it is

FURLA'S ERALDO POLETTO & FABIO FUSI

"What follows for Furla with be the consequence of this collection. We will continue to build on what is established. In moving forward, we are drawing inspiration from attitude. We will build on the notion of the established music scene. From the attitude for example, of people who follow this scene. We also want to expand into a more lifestyle brand. With this, our shoe and accessories collections will evolve."

WORDS

"The city of Stockholm carried a different air this season during fashion week. While collections showed, fashion continued and crowds gathered, there was an underlying uneasiness regarding the upcoming election that generated throughout the energy. Swedish contemporary brand, HOPE took absence this season- in light of the election- and rather took a political stance instead."

HOPE FOR SWEDEN FOR LAMPOON MAGAZINE

"Fendi’s Spring Summer 2018 collection walked with a semblance of Italian futurism. The shape and the cut as Karl Lagerfeld noted, led to a triangulation theme, as Silvia Venturini Fendi added that lightness is the story of the season. The collection adhered to the theme, emphasizing on triangular shoulders, inverted, triangular hems, cutouts and nipping into the waist."

RUNWAY REPORT: PRADA SS18 FOR OLIVIA PALERMO

"Prada has seemingly always been on the forefront of revolutionary dialogues spoken through seasonal collections and the Spring Summer 2018 collection is expectedly following suit. The collection possessed a suit of activism, reoccurring throughout each look. In doing so, the collection was replete with dichotomies, and a willful nod to women cartoonists since the Thirties."

WORDS

"Milan presented to the world its sensationally inimitable breed of masterly designs this fashion week, in the form of the Fall/Winter 2016 collections. The runways possessed what felt like the essential nature of Italy—mindfully energized from the past, and invigorated from the present. The designs displayed creativity and innovation, pairing contemporary stylings with revived, elemental classics. Among many promising statements in fashion this past week, nine dynamic trends captured the attention of the runway rows. Check out our favorites after the jump."
